She even went on to say most don't even know what the definition of integrity is, so I'm offering up the following tonight: Iowa Auditor Rob Sand pushes back after Senate Republicans pass bill to limit his powersĪfter a short visit I had with my dear friend this morning regarding that article, I couldn't help agreeing with her when insisting our Nation as a whole, has lost a great deal of integrity, and only because I see its erosion on a near daily basis. I'm attaching the following link to that article about Rob Sand, and please share it with any and all people you know who're concerned over the erosion of our State government's integrity. Yup, that's exactly what they've done, and will continue to do. Unfortunately like most who've gone down those dark paths, once discovered, they're quick to disavow any connection to past wrongdoings. In my book, an independent auditor is the person who works diligently at keeping people honest, and especially in these times where businesses and government entities think it's just OK to cook their books to create bogus write-offs, just so they can get additional funding, and believe you me, it's happening all the more since the pandemic arrived. The reason I am so very much upset by this proposed change in how our State Auditor can function, is because back a number of years ago when I worked in a bank, I was somewhat of a quasi-auditor, and if I didn't have all a given files information freely supplied to me, it became a red flag, which triggered a demand from one of my superiors for that information to be given to me more sooner than later. All I can say is, if they limit his ability to investigate, our State will be heading towards being considered a dictatorship where all our various State entities will be solely in the hands and full control of our Governor. Oh my goodness, after reading it, and then giving it another read, I was in shock our State Senate had voted to limit the fact-finding power of our State Auditor's office which is headed by Rob Sand. When I opened my email this morning, I noticed a friend of mind from out of State, had sent me a link from the Des Moines Register which I'm attaching for you to read, and only because I believe it's very important for the citizens of our State to know what our State legislature is up to. Thank goodness I keep my sale files well organized. No matter how many times I tell buyers and sellers at closing, to keep their closing documents in a safe place for their following year's tax preparers, I still get between eight and ten requests. I couldn't believe that many requests happened in one day. Today certainly became the one where I had to go digging for five sales files from last year, just so I could supply copies of closing statements for sellers who needed them for their tax preparers. I couldn't believe how my morning when racing by with all the drop-ins, text messages and phone calls. At least the streets and sidewalks were melting, and fortunately, all those frozen footprints had finally melted off my from the front of my office. Another chilly day came and went, and in spite of the sun's warming rays having arrived this afternoon, that biting north wind made sure the its warmth wouldn't be felt.
